ERIC STENGER
Delta Epsilon Chi was a “club” at Broward Community College. Little did I know that it would be an organization or more like a “family” that would change my life. Being involved in both the chapter and state levels, I learned a lot about myself and what life could present me. My experiences taught me to look for answers creatively. Competition and organizational involvement led me to overcome obstacles that allowed me to succeed in my employment opportunities and my on-the-job performance. Looking for ways to make things happen is my strong suit I learned. Since leaving full-time involvement with Delta Epsilon Chi, I have gone on to become the Assistant Promotions Director for Miami’s #1 Listen While You Work Station – 101.5 LITE FM. Amazing how much fun work can be, but I enjoy it.
Creativity and focus are things that should be nourished not just in school but in everything. Creativity is not just about being an artist or design expert. Creativity is being able to solve problems, answer questions, and being able to succeed. Nourish creativity wherever you see it and it will not let you down. Focus, the ability to see something through to completion and stay on task, is another very important trait. Focus involves determination and will power to achieve a goal. What are your goals? How can you accomplish them? What really matters to get your end result? How can you creatively focus yourself to get where you want to go? Delta Epsilon Chi offers opportunities to students and other organizations alike. What one does with those opportunities is self-determined. As a member, you have the opportunity to achieve many different things like land a job, gain leadership and practical experiences, and more. Organizations gain access to a pool of the best, most involved students and potential employees around. Your involvement determines your outcome. Get involved, be creative, and focus in on your future.
